Our R&D department in Nijmegen is looking for two new colleagues, a:
Medior and a Senior Product Developer
Along with the other Product Developers, you will be responsible for delivering Product Development Formulations. You will make use of internal and external technical resources, conduct experiments, perform technical assessments, implement product development from product concept, formulation design, lab prototype, pilot and plant trial to product launch to market.
What will you do as Medior or Senior Product Developer?
- Responsible for delivering Product Development Formulations.
- Proposes and executes strategy for qualifications and shelf life of raw materials, intermediate and final products, together with cross-functional teams, with a focus on physical, sensorial, and nutritional properties.
- Designs and executes experiments with/on emulsions and powders in our state of art R&D lab or at external facilities.
- Drive product development from product concept, formulation design, lab prototype, pilot and plant trial to product launch to market.
- Prepare and review technical documents necessary for each phase of product development.
- Execute and evaluate plant trials and first commercial productions of new products in Nijmegen plant or at third party manufacturers as part of cross-functional team.
- Drives scouting for new ingredients and drive innovations.
- Proposes strategy to improve product performance of existing products, this can be consumer, quality or cost driven.
- As Medior, it is expected you contribute to strategy and have intermediate level of technical knowledge on topics such as ingredients, formulations and product development processes and considerations.
- As Senior, it is expected you propose and drive strategy and have advanced level of technical knowledge on topics such as ingredients, formulations and product development processes and considerations.
Who are you?
- Master of Science degree in Food Technology/Food Science, Food Engineer, Chemical Engineering or any other Food Science related Master of Science degree.
- Work experience in food/pharmaceutical/dairy manufacturing industry in R&D, QA or production function with experience in product development, particularly in product formulations.
- Knowledge of food science principles, product development principles, emulsions and powder technology.
- Experience with working in technical and cross functional project teams.
- Proven ability to design and evaluate products, with attention to details and strong analytical skills.
- Influences decisions by clear and concise communication in technical topics to various audiences.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- As Medior, work experience required is 3-7 years. You need to be able to apply business insights and communicate effectively.
- As Senior, work experience required is at least 8 years. You need to be able to manage complex situations and have advanced stake holder management skills.
